An Open Letter to the Members of Atreyu:

Dear Atreyu,
What is this I hear about you headlining at this summer’s Projekt Revolution Tour with Linkin Park?? And do they think it’s clever to misspell words and replace “c”s with “k”s? Why do you do this to me Atreyu? I thought I knew you… I thought we had an understanding. But no, instead you have decided to go on tour with Stinkin’ Fart… ALL SUMMER LONG…

I say with regret, that I will not be seeing you until the fall when you realize that this decision to tour with crappy bands was a bad idea, and when you return to small venues and screaming…

That is all. Thank you.

Your disappointed fan,
Jenn7X

Americans Love Garth Brooks & Mariah Carey

I recently went to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) website. They explain themselves as “…the trade group that represents the U.S. recording industry. Its mission is to foster a business and legal climate that supports and promotes our members’ creative and financial vitality. Its members are the record companies that comprise the most vibrant national music industry in the world..” Additionally, “… RIAA members create, manufacture and/or distribute approximately 90% of all legitimate sound recordings produced and sold in the United States.”

They have a list of the Top Selling Artists. It’s so interesting to see the list of popular artists and where they rank to each other. For example, Mariah Carey comes right after Madonna in records sold with only a 1.5 million unit difference. No wonder she acts like such a diva…

The Beatles, of course took the win for most units sold at 170 million, but surprisingly, Garth Brooks came in second and Elvis came in third! I definitely knew that Garth was a huge country star, but had no idea he came in between The Beatles and Elvis!

Additionally,Britney Spears, The Backstreet Boys, N’Sync, and Jay-Z have all ranked higher on the list than legends like Frank Sinatra and Bob Marley.

Amazingly enough, Linkin Park (aka Stinkin’ Fart) have sold the same number of units, 19 million, as mediocre-yet-popular KISS.
